December 5th

today's surprise is winter arts and crafts!

I've been making crafts every year to get into the holiday spirit, plus it's a fun way to decorate my room without buying anything new~

first up is my construction paper tree that I've decorated with stickers as ornaments! it was one of my first christmas crafts, so it's a bit worn out. I could probably make a better one now, but I still love this one~
I created it by cutting two tree shapes out of green construction paper, cutting a slit on the top of one and the bottom of the other, and slotting them together. I did the same thing for the star on top using yellow construction paper.

next is my paper snowflakes. these are a classic winter craft, you can find tutorials and templates for how to make these with a quick google search. plus once you learn how to make one it's pretty easy to freestyle a lot more!
I think these were my first christmas crafts. I got the idea to make a whole bunch of these while watching Elf hehe

I made these snowmen by gluing a couple cotton balls together and then decorating them with a marker, yarn, and glitter glue. then I put them all together on a string to use as a cute little garland~

I found a tutorial for these yarn hat ornaments a few years back and decided to try making a couple for my christmas tree! then after christmas was over, I didn't want them getting lost among all the other ornaments so now I use them as hats for my beanie babies hehe
all you need is an empty toilet paper roll, some yarn, and some stuffing or cotton balls~

and my last and most recent craft is these yarn reindeer that I adapted from a yarn wrapped yule goat tutorial! these ones might be my favorite crafts, they're just so cute and colorful. I still have the stencil I made for these, so I might make some more soon!
they're pretty fun and easy to make, all you need is some cardboard and yarn~
